Arsenal to trigger David Raya's buy option, Tomiyasu to sign new deal

Brentford goalkeeper David Raya decided to join Arsenal last summer on loan for £3m with a £27m option to buy next summer. The Spanish goalkeeper has become Mikel Arteta's first choice goalkeeper ahead of Rasmdale.

The Bees loanee's performances have led to the board deciding to put their faith in him and so the London club will exercise the purchase option on his loan deal, meaning Raya will be committed to the Gunners until 2028, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed. 

The Spaniard was Arsenal's hero in their Champions League last-16 tie against Porto after saving two decisive penalties in the shoot-out to book his side a ticket to the quarter-finals. 

In addition, the Italian journalist also confirmed that the Emirates Stadium outfit have already reached an agreement with Tomiyasu to sign a new contract, as the Japanase right-back will committ his long-term future with the Gunners.
