Samuel Umtiti has fallen out of favour at Barcelona. He has been marred by injury during his time at the club and he has now become surplus to requirements. This comes after he was a stand out performer in his first two seasons at the Camp Nou.
Now, Barcelona are wanting rid of him but only on a temporary basis. The daily paper 'Mundo Deportivo' reports that the Catalan club feel it is a good idea to send him out on loan.
Adding to this, the 'Daily Star' has linked the centreback with a move to Arsenal. The player could have gone to the English club in the January transfer window if it were not for an injured fifth metatarsal.
The Gunners want to facilitate the footballer's return to his old self on the pitch, and take advantage of Barcelona's necessity to reduce the number of players in their squad.
Umtiti would arrive in London a little rusty after having only played one full match this season.
