Several news outlets report that Aaron Ramsdale is set to have his contract renewed at Arsenal. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the new deal will include a pay rise for the 24 year old keeper, whose team have accepted the deal.
The deal comes after a very impressive season for Arsenal, that currently sees them 2nd in the Premier League, only a point behind Man City, after leading the league almost all of this season. Ramsdale has kept 13 clean sheets in the league this season, including 10 away, most recently for Arsenal's win at Newcastle United (0-2).
"We want to keep our best talent"
The keeper isn't the only one looking to remain at the club, as they look to build a squad that can take on the Champions League next season. The club are also looking for extensions for Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, who have been key players for Arsenal this season. Saliba had started every Premier League match this season before his back injury in March. It seems Arsenal are keen to hold on to the 22-year-old French international.
"We want to keep our best talent. Especially the players that deserve some recognition"
Saliba isn't the only young Arsenal superstar. Since Saka signed his last deal in 2020, he has become one of the brightest talents in the Premier League, with 25 G/A this season and over 20 England caps at the age of 21. Adored by players and fans alike, many outlets are reporting that he will remain at the club, and the deal is all but signed.
