Tottenham striker Ivan Perisic said that if Croatia play Argentina in the World Cup semi-final on Tuesday as they did in the quarter-final against Brazil, "anything is possible".
"It's an incredible feeling to have reached the semi-final, but as players we want to reach the final and we will do everything we can," said Perisic, who said that "Argentina are a great team".
He considered it very difficult to compare this match with the one against England four years ago and said that what they have to do is "go out and play as well as possible from minute one to ninety, in defence and in attack because it is essential".
He preferred to ignore personal acknowledgements, records achieved with his national team, to focus on helping the team in whatever he has to do and to give the best of himself, and, when asked about Luka Modric and the possibility that it could be his farewell to the World Cup, he pointed out that "a couple of days ago we saw how Cristiano Ronaldo was eliminated after five World Cups and could not win them and with Messi the same thing happens, so he will give everything to be in the final".
