Another day without Bellingham

After enjoying a one day off, Real Madrid returned to training on Wednesday to prepare for the visit to Valencia on Saturday (21:00 CET, -1 GMT) with England's Jude Bellingham still in doubt, as he continues to work on the sidelines with the squad.

According to 'EFE', both Thursday and Friday will be "key" days to find out if the midfielder will be able to be part of the team at Mestalla, a presence that, although in doubt, is not ruled out.

Bellingham continues with his demanding recovery programme inside the Ciudad Deportiva Real Madrid facilities for the time being, with plenty of work with the physiotherapists, gym and swimming pool to do his best and to make the most of his chances of helping his team in an always difficult visit to Valencia.

Bellingham suffered a sprained ankle on 10 February and, if he is not ready for Mestalla, his return will be postponed until the Champions League last-16 second leg against Leipzig at the Santiago Bernabeu on 6 March.

Meanwhile, Joselu, the other injured player - apart from the long-term injuries to Belgium's Courtois, Brazil's Militao and Austria's Alaba, each with cruciate ligament tears in his knee - has been ruled out of the game against Valencia.

What's more, he will still miss the next two weeks of competition due to the bone oedema in his right ankle that was diagnosed last Friday. The rest of the outfield players who were available for Italian coach Ancelotti began training with a half-hour routine in the gym, while the goalkeepers did specific work.

They then all gathered on the pitch for tactical, possession and ball control exercises, according to the club's website, before finishing their second training session of the week with a series of small-sided games and running drills.
