Before half an hour had even passed in West Ham's match against Brentford on Sunday, Hammers player, Kurt Zouma, had to leave the field due to injury. The player is now a doubt for West Ham's all important Europa League quarter final second leg against Lyon.
West Ham took a trip to Brentford this Sunday for matchday 32 of the Premier League season. The Hammers were defeated 2-0 in the game sandwiched by their Europa League quarter final tie with Lyon.
In the first leg, the English side drew 1-1 despite playing the whole second half with ten men after Cresswell was sent off just before half time. They will face off again with the French side next Thursday in what will be the match to decide which team makes it to the semis.
It is now a very real possibility that West Ham will be without one of their most prolific defenders, Kurt Zouma, for the all important clash. This is becuase he had to leave the field due to injury within the first half an hour of West Ham's match with Brentford.
The Frenchman was replaced by Issa Diop. As a doctor's report has not yet been released concerning the severity of the injury, Zouma's availability for the second leg is unknown.
