Zinchenko makes Pep win
Almost every time the Catalan coach has lined Zinchenko up, City have won. With the Ukrainian midfielder, Guardiola has only lost once and drawn on another occasion.
Zinchenko is a young Ukrainian midfielder who is making his way into Guardiola's starting line-up. The midfielder joined City in the 2017-18 season to nurture Pep's possession-focused style of play.
The curious thing about the situation is that luck plays in favour of the Ukrainian: when Pep lines him up, Manchester City wins. It's 39 wins for Guardiola's side with the young midfielder joined his ranks. But like with all rules, there are exceptions.
There has only been one defeat for Zinchenko with City: the one against Basel in the round of 16 of the Champions League. Apart from this setback, the Ukrainian has been Guardiola's lucky charm.
Little by little, the young midfielder is gaining prominence. Last season, he played 14 matches, starting 12 of them. In this year's pre-season, Zinchenko caught the eye of Pep, who has placed him in the starting line-up 26 times this season. He has been on the bench twice more.
The midfielder was brought up in the Shaktar Donetsk U19, and then went on to play for Ufa in the Russian League. After that, Zinchenko moved to PSV, where he served in both the first team and the second. City signed him after his good performances in the Dutch team.
