According to reports in France, Manchester City are ready to meet Lionel Messi's £275m buy-out clause.

'Yahoo Sport France', reports that we could see the £100m and £200m transfer fee breached in the same window, as Pep Guardiola's side try lure Barcelona star Messi to the Etihad.

The Spanish giants lost one of their prized assets in Neymar when PSG shocked the football world and met the Brazilian's £198m buy-out clause.

Messi is yet to sign a contract extension at the Camp Nou, and speculation increased when it was revealed he had followed City's official Instagram account.

If the Argentine superstar was searching for a way out of Barcelona this summer, Guardiola would no doubt demand his club do whatever it takes to bring him to Manchester.

Will the world record transfer fee be smashed twice in the same summer?
