Midfielder Granit Xhaka is getting closer to renewing his contract with Arsenal. The Gunners will offer him a two-year extension on his current deal.

The renewal of Granit Xhaka is a matter of time. The Swiss international will sign a new contract with Arsenal sooner rather than later, according to information from 'Blick'.

Xhaka will be staying in North London for a further two years, as that is the offer that is currently on the table. If he reaches an agreement with the club, the midfielder would reach a decade as a Gunner.

Currently, Xhaka totals nine seasons with Arsenal, in which he has played 221 matches to date. In that time he has scored 13 goals and provided 20 assists.

A few weeks back, it was manager Mikel Arteta who confirmed that Xhaka would be staying on: "Granit will be staying with us, he's a key member of our team. He wanted to play this Sunday and I think it's a very clear commitment from his part that he wants to be here."
