The Football Association (FA) handed on Friday an additional one-match ban and £50,000 fine to Wolves striker Matheus Cunha following his red card in the FA Cup fifth-round defeat to Bournemouth on March 1.

Matheus Cunha was shown a late red card after hitting, kicking and headbutting Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez in Wolves' FA Cup fifth-round defeat on March 1.

The 25-year-old striker was initially given a three-match ban for violent conduct, ruling him out for Wolves' Premier League fixtures against Everton, Southampton and West Ham until April 1.

However, the FA have confirmed the decision to sanction the Brazil international with an additional one-match suspension, which will see him also miss the trip to Ipswich Town on April 5.

Cunha has also been hit with a £50,000 fine for his "improper conduct" and will only return at head coach Vitor Pereira's disposal against Tottenham Hotspur on April 13.

This is the second time the Wolves player has been suspended this season after elbowing an Ipswich Town staff member and pulling his glasses from his face on December 14.
