Wolves and Fulham have followed up on Russia captain Fyodor Smolov, after the striker sparked West Ham's interest last year.

The 28-year-old, who will captain hosts Russia at the World Cup this summer, was targeted by the 'Hammers' in December, although they ultimately saw their £11million bid rejected.

Smolov has been the subject of attention from the two Championship clubs, however newly-promoted Wolves could have the advantage if Fulham fail to secure promotion to the top-tier.

So far this season in his club campaign with Krasnodar, the striker has scored 15 goals from 22 appearances, and the Russian Premier League outfit would be willing to part with Smolov for £12million.

Although Zenit St Petersburg are keen to sign the Russia international, Smolov is reportedly eager to flex his muscles in the Premier League and would welcome the right opportunity.
