Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand believe Willian is capable of playing for any team in the world after the Chelsea winger impressed against Barcelona.

Although Chelsea suffered a 3-0 defeat to Barcelona at the Camp Nou, eliminating them from this year's Champions League, one player stood out to the former players.

Following his goal in the first leg, Willian put in another encouraging display in the second fixture and looked the 'Blues' most potent attacking threat.

Speaking after the game on 'BT Sport', Chelsea legend Lampard praised the Brazilian: "Willian was basically at the middle of everything good that they did today.

'He is on top form at the moment, without a doubt Willian now could easily play in any team in the world. He could have played in Barcelona’s team. We wax lyrical about Messi, I think Willian can play at that level.'

Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand echoed his colleague's opinions: "Willian was the stand-out player for Chelsea. Like Frank said he can go into any team in the world at the moment, on that type of form, you want to see that week in week out from him."

Despite not scoring at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night, the Brazil international is in rich vein of form, scoring five goals in his last six games across all competitions and will be hoping to continue his prolific record against Leicester City in the quarter-final of the FA Cup on Sunday.
