Manchester City's Premier League title defence came to an end on Thursday as Liverpool were crowned champions after Chelsea boosted their chances of a top-four finish with a 2-1 win over Pep Guardiola's men.
Arsenal have reportedly gotten in touch with Willian's agent in the last hours to try and close his transfer for next season. The Brazilian forward confirmed his departure from Chelsea at the end of the season.
According to the 'London Evening Standard', Willian is willing to stay longer at Chelsea even though his contract ends on 30th June. He is clear that when this ends he will leave, but meanwhile, he'll hold on.
The British press say that Willian, who will not continue at Chelsea, is liking to move to Tottenham or PSG. This summer he will be one of the players to be in most of the rumours since he will be out of contract.
Just a few hours after Willian confirmed his relationship with Chelsea was broken, the first suitors have already apparently stepped up for him. They are Arsenal and Tottenham, two teams that will now fight to convince him.
Mohamed Salah, Frank Lampard and Willian gave Chelsea a convincing 3-0 win over Stoke City in April 2014. The Premier League matchup saw Salah contribute in all three goals, scoring the first and assisting the other two.
