After the impressive 4-0 win over Czech Republic, William Carvalho looked ahead to Tuesday's match against Spain, where a draw will see Portugal qualify for the UEFA Nations League Final Four.
"Portugal always play to win and that's what we did. In the first half we were far superior, we created a lot of chances, while in the second we defended at the back," said the Betis midfielder in the mixed zone.
And in the same vein, he felt that the Portuguese side had a good away win over the Czechs: "But the truth is that it was a well-earned victory on our part.
Finally, Carvalho issued a warning to Spain, who must win in Portugal to qualify for the finals: "It's always good to be top of the group on the last matchday, but we're going in to win the game against Spain.
The win over the Czech Republic left Portugal top of Group 2 with ten points, two ahead of Spain. As a result, the Portuguese need just a draw against the Spaniards to make it through to the next round.
