Following his official debut for Real Madrid, Luca Zidane insisted that he wants to step out of his legendary father's footballing footsteps.

'Los Blancos' faced Villarreal in their final league game of the season with an unfamiliar face in goal.

Zinedine Zidane opted to start his son, Luca, ahead of Kiko Casilla as Keylor Navas was rested ahead of the Champions League final on May 26.

However, it wasn't an idyllic debut for the 19-year-old as Real were pegged back by two second-half goals to draw the game 2-2.

After the disappointing result, Luca addressed reporters about his set-up at the club and his peformance on Saturday.

"When I play I'm Luca, not Zidane," he insisted. "I'm proud to have made my debut with the best team in the world but the feeling of the draw is a bit bittersweet.

"I'll have to watch the conceded goals again, I tried my best."

It was Luca's first appearance with the senior team after featuring 13 times for Real Madrid Castilla in the Segunda B division this season.
