Mallorca full-back Pablo Maffeo spoke again about his particular quarrels with Real Madrid on the 'D-Lokos' podcast on 'Radio Marca', where he said he supported “the referee” in the Copa del Rey final.
There are players who enjoy the tension, the taunting and the teasing. They understand that this is part of football and take it to the extreme. One of them is the Spanish-Argentine Pablo Maffeo, Mallorca's fullback and one of those who have fun heating up every game with Real Madrid. There are still two weeks to go before the Balearics face Real Madrid, but that hasn't stopped the 27-year-old defender from bringing up the subject.
Maffeo was questioned about his quarrels with the 'Merengues' on 'D-Lokos', podcast of 'Radio Marca Baleares', and responded with his usual tone. “I'm not anti-Madrid, I don't care if they win or lose. But I don't like their players, I find them disrespectful in my experience,” explained the player from Sant Joan Despi, who said that he does have good relationship with some like Brahim Diaz or Fran Garcia.
The winger acknowledged his reputation as a troublemaker. “I'm a real troublemaker, I can't be beaten in that respect. I'll do whatever I want and I don't care who bothers me. I'm a human being and nobody is going to change the way I am,” said Maffeo, who joked about his appearance in some videos on Real Madrid's official television: ”If I fart, I appear on Real Madrid TV. I have a personalised program there. I don't care. Speaking badly, I sweat it. I put them to dance whenever I want."
In addition, when asked about which team he supported in the final of the Copa del Rey, he said: “I supported the referee, who had a bad time (laughs). So you can see how much attention I paid to the match”. In this sense, he defended De Burgos Bengoetxea and said he felt identified: “If the big ones complain, imagine what the small ones could say. I support the referees because I have felt that pressure from Madrid”.
