The Brazilian Douglas Costa is back home waiting to be able to return to Italy. The right winger gave his opinion on his salary being reduced and supported the Turin based club during a pandemic which is completely out of football's control.

Douglas Costa is one of the players who travelled to Brazil to spend the lockdown there and he will not return until things settle down in Italy. The return to work is getting delayed.

The footballer gave an interview to 'Esporte Interativo' in which he gave his view on the measures Juventus have taken to guarantee the economic viability of the club.

"Here we talked amongst ourselves and we knew that at any moment in time, it could get worse and that it was going to hit our pockets. The club are not to blame for the virus and no one has a crystal ball to know what is going to happen with this," he said.

On the lockdown and the suspension of Serie A football, Douglas Costa admitted that he does not know what Juventus are going to do: "We are not working, but we are getting paid. The issue of money is a difficult one."

On the possibility of him returning, Douglas Costa knows that he will not be able to do it until the middle of April at least. "We are waiting for the situation to imrpove in Italy. We had to come back on the 3rd. I spoke to the captain and he said we would be back on the 15th or the 20th if we are lucky. Everything is still very confusing and for now I'm still at home with my family, which is also good," he continued.

To end, the Brazilian says that he thinks the current leader will be given the title and then they can look ahead to the new season. "They might give the title to the leader and then we will have to start again."

Juventus announced in a statement that the first team and the coaching staff would see their salaries cut. That will save the club around 90 million euros.
