'We have to hope Manchester City will slip up'
Cesc Fabregas admits Chelsea need Manchester City to start dropping points if they are to retain their Premier League crown.
Pep Guardiola's side may be running away with the title, but Fabregas insists Chelsea must stay in touch in case the league leaders do slip up.
He told 'ChelseaTV': 'It is still a long way to go and that is why we have to hope Manchester City will slip up and we will manage to put some pressure on them.
'They are there because they deserve it and our job is just to keep going and see what happens at the top.'
The Blues' 3-1 win against Newcastle on Saturday was an 'important' victory according to the Spanish midfielder.
He added: 'It is important to get the win. We needed to win before the top teams played and it was an important three points.
