Eibar's coach, José Luis Mendilibar, admitted that Navalcarnero were much better than his team and that they are fair winners in the play-offs. "They outplayed us and we should be ashamed of ourselves," he said after the final whistle.
By three goals to one, Eibar fell in the Copa del Rey against Navalcarnero. Mendilibar already warned of the possibility in the previous match when he said that they could not be trusted because they were a First Division team.
It wasn't by any means the best match for Eibar, but quite the opposite for their opposition. Mendilibar gave them praise and congratulated Navalcarnero on the win, which he saw as a fair result.
"They were very good, better than us. In the second half they outplayed us. Starting from the bench and across all parts of the team" he said after the final whistle.
And then began the self-criticism, always with the tone and sincerity characteristic of Mendilibar: "Just to say that I feel bad because you can play very badly and any team can win, but it is shame I feel. We didn't fight, we didn't run, we didn't do anything".
"I think we have to think and think about it because there is half a season left and we have to take this forward. With today's match it's very difficult", he finished.
