Portugal's coach Roberto Martinez appeared in the press room ahead of the Nations League semifinal against Germany and assured that they have the ambition to win in order to fight for the title.

Portugal's coach Roberto Martinez said Tuesday that despite the criticism, they are where they wanted to be, "in the final four" of the Nations League.

"In football, opinions are always subjective. They are part of everything. What is decisive is the data. If we look at the 28 matches we have played, we see that the team has always shown commitment," he stressed at the press conference ahead of the semifinal that the ‘Quinas’ will play on Wednesday against Germany in Munich.

“We have the highest number of points, goals and victories during the last decades of the national team in 28 games,” he stressed.

"We are where we wanted to be, in the Nations League finals. The match is one more we need in order to reach our goal, which is to win titles," he added.

United's Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes also highlighted the desire to win the title and repeat what Portugal achieved in 2019.

"We can win a competition with Portugal regardless of being the first, second or third time. We are focused on repeating what was achieved in 2019," he said.
