Walker says that Spurs are still 'in his heart'. ManCity

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker insists that Tottenham will always remain in his heart despite leaving the club in the summer.

The 27-year-old left Spurs for City in a £50m move earlier this summer but has admitted that after spending eight years in West London, it was not an easy deicision and explained that his former side will always remain in his heart.

Speaking to English publication 'The Times', Walker said: "They (Spurs) were the ones that gave me my Premier League opportunity - they believed in me,

"I'm not going to sit here and lie and say it wasn't tough. Having spent eight years there, that club is in my heart. I'm not going to deny that - Tottenham is in my heart."

Walker joined Tottenham from hometown club Sheffield United back in 2009 in a joint £9m deal with fellow defender Kyle Naughton and the England international admits that he sometimes gets emotional when he thinks about the time he spent at the club.

"Sometimes I feel like crying when I think about it," he explained.

"That I spent eight years there and I'll never see that place again. But I'm a man. I'm a professional."
