As Raphinha's controversial words before facing Argentina reflected, the Brazilians expected to beat the 'Albiceleste', but the roles were reversed in Buenos Aires and it was Scaloni's team who gave a thrashing on Tuesday night.
Dorival Junior told a press conference that it was “difficult” to explain the situation his team had experienced against Argentina, although one of the 'Selecao' stars Vinicius Junior tried to give a more positive message after the defeat.
"We played very badly and Argentina played an excellent game in front of their fans. We have to rethink everything we did… this can’t happen. We need to improve and not give up, only 1 year is left till World Cup," said the Real Madrid star.
Brazil will take on Ecuador and Paraguay on June 4th and 9th in the next international break, before closing the 2026 World Cup South American qualifiers in September against Chile and Bolivia.
