'Vinicius is an exceptional signing for Madrid'
Diego Ribas, former Altetico Madrid player and current team-mate of the Flamengo striker, applauded Real Madrid's business, highlighting the quality of the Brazilian youngster.
"Real Madrid have made an exceptional signing. He's got plenty of talent and he's very disciplined," said Diego Ribas, in an interview for Spanish publication 'AS'.
Ribas was also keen to place special emphasis on Vinicius' self-confidence at Flamengo, where the 17-year-old has already established himself as a key part of the team's attack.
"I'd say his development since coming up to the first team has been excellent. Since the start, we all knew perfectly well that he was a player with considerable talent and it was only a matter of time before he started to help the team at key points, like he is doing know," said the teenager's team-mate.
On top of this, the former Atletico midfielder wanted to dispel any doubts about the player's lack of experience: "Vinicius is a very disciplined player, his behaviour is exemplary and he is surprisingly mature for someone of such a young age. He is a player who always gives his all in training, and always wants to improve. He has plenty of quality."
That's certainly high praise coming from a player who used to play for Real Madrid's local rivals.
