Carlo Ancelotti discussed Real Madrid's 1-2 win at the Martínez Valero against Elche in the Copa del Rey round of 16. The Italian coach was clearly delighted to have booked a place in the next round.
Real Madrid travelled to Elche in a Copa del Rey last 16 clash on Thursday.
The first 90 minutes of the contest saw no goals scored so it went to extra-time. In the 102nd minute, Marcelo was given a straight red for Real Madrid and seconds later, Gonzalo Verdu put Elche ahead. Isco drew Madrid level in the 108th minute and then Eden Hazard put then visitors in front with five minutes remaining. Pere Milla's red card at the end meant it finished 10 a side. Real Madrid travel to Athletic Bilbao in the quarter-finals. The match is scheduled to take place between 1st and 3rd February, but Real Madrid have asked to postpone the game as they will be missing players due to the international break.
