VIDEO: Rodri’s impressive solo goal against Sporting Gijón

Real Betis travelled to Gijon to face Sporting Gijon in the Copa del Rey last 32 last Sunday. 

The Segunda team were reduced to 10 men after 21 minutes after a poor challenge by Marc Valiente which saw referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea go to his back pocket. Seven minutes later, Betis were awarded a penalty which Sergio Canales converted and then Rodri scored a wonderful goal on 31 minutes to give Sporting a mountain to climb. He got the ball just inside the Sporting half and ran past defenders into the penalty area before cutting past Babin and scoring from six yards out.  They were unable to fight back and the match ended 0-2
