France played their first opponents from that group on Tuesday in Germany, performing brilliantly and securing a 1-0 win thanks to a first half own goal from recently-recalled Mats Hummels. That scoreline didn't tell the whole story, however, as both Mbappe and Benzema had goals ruled out for offside, the latter of which occurred after a VAR check.
France take on Hungary in their next match on Saturday, before ending the group stage with a mouth-watering clash against holders Portugal on June 23.
