On the day, it was the visitors who opened the scoring in the second half, with Huntelaar striking after 50 minutes. Toornstra pulled one back just eight minutes later for the hosts, before Ajax struck again through Dolberg on 72 minutes. They then went on to kill off the game in the closing moments of the match, de Jong and Dolberg scoring on 89 and 90 minutes respectively and putting the seal on a convincing 1-4 victory.
This season, Ajax have already been proclaimed champions with two games remaining, while Feyenoord find themselves in a battle for the Europa League play-offs.
