Flamengo faced Boavista and Arturo Vidal was expected to start the match. However, the Chile international was angered by the decision of coach Vitor Pereira, who left the midfielder on the bench from the start of the meeting.

Flamengo secured a win over Boavista thanks to a goal by Pedro in the 70th minute. They continue to lead the Carioca Serie A table.

Arturo Vidal had expected to start the encounter but his coach did not consider it. Cameras caught the midfielder very angry with his coach's decisions.

His manager Vitor Pereira explained the situation at the press conference after the match: "We have to put the team and the club above our personal ambitions," he said.

"Being angry is a very natural thing. We have to make complicated decisions. These decisions are based on analysis and our ideas. We have to help the team," the boss concluded.

However, the Chilean player has already apologised to the club and the fans for his behaviour on social media: "I want to apologise for my reaction during yesterday's game. I have always liked to take part in matches as I have done so throughout my career," he wrote.
