Athletic Club player Mikel Vesga suffered a minor muscle injury in last Saturday's friendly against Burgos, the first friendly of the pre-season for the Basque team, which keeps him "pending evolution".
The medical report issued on Monday by the Bilbao club states that the midfielder, who was substituted after 25 minutes by Mikel Jauregizar, has a slight muscular injury "in the internal rectus muscle of his right thigh".
Vesga's injury is the second physical setback suffered by an Athletic player in the current pre-season. Last week, goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala suffered three fractures in the right transverse processes of L2, L3 and L4 during training, which will keep him out of the team for approximately one month.
In addition, international goalkeeper Unai Simon underwent surgery on Thursday on his right wrist and will be out for several months and Nico Serrano is recovering from the procedure he underwent on his left shoulder at the beginning of June.
