Tomás Pina says that his side were 'better'

Tomás Pina recovered from injury in time to play against Bilbao and get the win. The midfielder said after the game that his team were just 'better' in the Basque derby.

"The team played very well from the first minute. At the end of the first half, we won the second balls and dominated, of course, we discussed everything at half-time and then reacted well," he told Movistar.

Tomás Pina explained that Alavés improved "by fighting for every ball". "We grew into the game and created chances. I think that we were the fair winners in this derby", he added.

"I think that we have worked hard as professionals at this club and the recovery has been good", declared Pina when asked about the games the team lost when he was out injured.
