Zinedine Zidane, the Real Madrid coach, went to the post-match press conference just after the Villarreal game. His team won again after two games and he spoke, amongst other things, of Bale's absence and the return of Vinicius.
The Real Madrid coach did not want to discuss Gareth Bale's omission from the team: "It's not a message for him. I have to make a team and that's it, you can make of it what you want, but I just have to make an 18."
After making clearer that he would not offer details on the situation of the Welshman, Vinicius' name popped up. He returned after two months out. "He has to work, He has two games left and then he can prepare for next year. I can't talk about the Copa America because I am not Tite. We will see what happens."
He had great words for two of the main men in the game, Mariano and Brahim: "Mariano did not have any opportunities because he was injured. He scored two goals and I am happy for him. I am delighted about Brahim's game... he can do things well, or badly, but he always wants to go for goal. I am satisfied with his performance and that of the rest of the players."
"We played better than against Rayo and I leave happier, just like the players. I am happy about winning again at home. We didn't do everything well in the end, but that can happen because of the heat, tiredness and other things," he explained about the game.
Lastly, he was asked about Courtois and the debate about the number one goalkeeper, but Zidane continued not to give anything away: "I have to choose one of my three goalkeepers and today I chose him."
