What initially looked like a two-horse race has been broadened by the addition of Sergio Aguero, who has gone quietly about his business. As we near the end of the season, the contenders all boast astonishing statistics behind their scoring records.

The race for the Premier League is all but decided this season, but who will clinch the coveted individual accolade awarded to the competition's top goalscorer is yet to be decided.

Three clear contenders remain in the race for the Golden Boot. With 11 games left of the season, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah are all way ahead of their nearest rivals as they all make their case for the award.

Kane, who is aiming for a third consecutive Golden Boot this term, currently leads the way with 23 goals and is arguably the most complete striker of the lot. He possesses the innate ability to position himself perfectly in the box while he seems to score with almost any part of his body.

His stoppage-time penalty at Anfield, the one that took his total tally in the Premier League up to 100, was his second from the spot this season, while his goal to win the North London derby on Saturday was the fifth from his head. The 24-year-old has scored nine goals off both his left and right foot.

One of the stand-out players in England this season, and by no means an out-and-out centre-forward, Mohamed Salah has returned for a second stint in the Premier League with a point to prove. Cutting in from the right flank, the Egyptian has netted 19 of his 22 league goals with his left foot.

A goalscoring machine since his arrival at the Etihad, Sergio Aguero is once again up among the leading strikers in his seventh season. Courtesy of four goals against Leicester on Saturday, he is back in the race for the Golden Boot with 21 goals, 15 of which have come with his stronger right side but his five headed goals have demonstrated an aerial ability beyond that of his diminutive stature.
