Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy is targeting multiple trophies at the Etihad, as well as predicting France's 2018 World Cup triumph.

After a £50 million move from Monaco, Benjamin Mendy believes he has joined one of the most exciting football projects in Europe and is expecting success with his new team.

'[The objective is to] win two or three titles with Manchester City,' the 23-year-old told 'Telefoot'. 'We have one of the best projects in Europe and we want to continue writing the history of this club'.

Two summers of heavy spending mean Guardiola is under pressure to deliver results, but Mendy believes he will eventually bring major titles.

The left-back has secured a place in the France squad for the World Cup next year, though Deschamps' men still have to win their final two qualifiers to guarantee their participation in Russia.

Mendy showed his ambition once again: 'We're going to qualify. We can win the World Cup. We have good young players, experienced players. I believe it', he said.
