The club Alexis Sanchez has chosen over Real Madrid

Alexis Sanchez will reject Real Madrid.

Going into the final year of his contract at the Emirates, Alexis Sanchez has attracted attention from several top European clubs, but the Chilean has made his mind up.

As revealed by the 'Mirror', Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez has put Sanchez at the top of the club's transfer target list for the January transfer window. If the fee demanded by Arsenal is excessive, Madrid will wait until his contract runs out in June to sign him on a free.

After selling Alvaro Morata this summer, the Spanish giants are interested in strengthening their forward options. Karim Benzema's recent injury made it clear that Zidane is short of options in attack.

However, the Chilean striker will turn down Real Madrid in favour of joining Manchester City. Having made up his mind to quit the Emirates, he wants to complete the move to his Etihad, one which came so close in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal could lose out on £60 million if they decide not to sell Sanchez in January, with the striker determined to leave once his contract expires.

Either in January for an agreed fee or next summer when he becomes a free agent, Sanchez will find a new team. It seems he does not fancy a return to Spain, favouring a reunion with former manager Pep Guardiola.
