Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has expressed his openness to extending his stay at the Catalan club, citing his family's happiness and his own enjoyment of his time at the Camp Nou.

Wojciech Szczesny's future at Barcelona has taken an unexpected turn as the former Juventus goalkeeper is now considering extending his stay beyond the initial year of his contract.

"If you asked me at the start of the season, I'd say I'll be leaving Barca in June. But I love the time I've spent here," Szczesny claimed in a recent interview.

The 35-year-old Polish goalkeeper, who came out of retirement to join Barcelona following Marc-Andre ter Stegen's injury, has impressed since taking over as the club's first-choice keeper.

Szczesny's good performances have not gone unnoticed, and Barca sporting director Deco recently hinted at the possibility of offering him a contract extension

The Polish international's integration into Barcelona life extends beyond the pitch, as he explained, "My family is happy, my son loves his school, my wife loves being here… I'm open to everything".

Szczesny's potential stay could have implications for the futures of Inaki Pena and the injured Ter Stegen, with the club reportedly waiting on Szczesny's decision before making any moves in the goalkeeper market.
