Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs have seen an offer for Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon rejected by the Championship side.

The bid was believed to be in the region of £25m, a significant figure for a player who only turned 17 in May.

Sessegnon burst onto the scene last season, starting 17 Championsip games and making 31 appearances in all competitions at the tender age of just 16.

His impressive form saw him linked with a move to the likes of Spurs, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City but those reports went quiet when the youngster signed a three-year profession contract (his first) with the Cottagers in June.

However, that has not put Tottenham off the deal and Mauricio Pochettino's side returned to the negotiating table, only to see their latest offer turned down.

English publication 'The Daily Mail' reports that Liverpool have pulled out of the race to sign Sessegnon, as all signs point towards him joining Tottenham.

Nevertheless, if Spurs are to do a deal, they will have to meet Fulham's demands. Slavisa Jokanovic's side have already shown that they will not be bullied into selling their star players for less than their asking price after reportedly rejecting a £20m bid from Newcastle for midfielder Tom Cairney.
