According to 'Sport', Gremio midfielder Arthur will undergo a medical on Wednesday as his move to Barcelona inches closer to its finality. If all goes well, an agreement between all three parties should be reached very soon.

Arthur is one step closer to becoming a Barcelona player. If reports in the Spanish newspaper are correct, the midfielder will complete all the revelant medical exams on Wednesday to clear the way for an agreement to be finalised.

Speculation about the transfer had intensified again after the La Liga leaders failed to secure the deal in January, with the club sending more representatives over to Brazil to show their intent.

The strategy appears to have worked, although neither club will make the transfer official until the end of the season.

In fact, it could still be a while until a 100 per cent agreement is in place, going by the statement from Gremio's president Romildo Bolzan: "The agreement is not yet finalised. We have talked a lot, but the transfer isn't finished yet".

However, the fee seems to have been set, with Arthur set to move to the Camp Nou for €40 million, of which €30m is fixed and the remaining €10m will be add-ons.

Although, with reports of a medical taking place, we could see the finalisation of one of football's biggest transfer sagas arrive very soon.
