Sergio Ramos vows he'll make it to 2022 World Cup in Qatar

After Spain's World Cup exit to hosts Russia which came down to a penalty shootout, Ramos has said that he will not retire from the world stage. Instead, he has promised that he will be at the 2022 World Cup, even if he has a grey beard.

Andres Iniesta on the other hand, has announced his retirement from the Spanish national team following the defeat.

However, Ramos, who was key in Real Madrid's Champion's League run, insisted that he would make it to Qatar according to the 'Daily Mail.'

"F***, it's difficult," Ramos said. "It's so many hours, so much effort and so much dedication."

"Maybe this wasn't our best moment but we go home without having lost a game."

"I would like to carry on playing [for Spain] for many more years because I'm going home with a terrible pain. I'm going to have to go to Qatar with a grey beard if necessary."

Ramos tweeted about the defeat saying: "It hurts a lot but nobody should doubt that we'll be back to try again and again."

The 32-year-old has played 156 times for Spain, which is an outfield record.
