Sergio Ramos has once again made history, although this time it's a rather unwanted record. After receiving a yellow card against Leganes on Wednesday, the centre-back became the most cautioned player in the history of La Liga.

Sergio Ramos has been shown a yellow card by referees 163 in La Liga. Last Sunday he equalled Albert Lopo's record of 162, and on Wednesday, he surpassed it.

The Sevillian defender, who will miss Saturday's tie with Alaves following his tackle on El Zhar, also holds the record for the most red cards

With his sending off against Athletic Bilbao on gameday 14 of La Liga, the Spaniard became the player to take the most 'early baths' (19), overtaking the two players he previously shared the record with - Xavi Aguado and Pablo Alfaro

It's not all bad news for Ramos, however. This season he also became first defender in the history of LaLiga to score in 14 consecutive seasons after heading home against Levante.
