The fight between Yaya Toure's agent and Pep Guardiola continues. Dimitri Seluk said he won't say sorry and keeps criticizing the Spaniard.
Everything began a few weeks ago when Pep Guardiola didn't include Yaya Toure in his Champions League squad. His agent got very angry and said Guardiola should apologize for humiliating his client.
The 45-year-old announced in his latest press conference that he won't say sorry for his professional decision and as long as the Russian doesn't apologize Toure won't play again since he "cannot accept as a coach, every manager when his player doesn’t play goes to the media and speak and speak and speak". Most of you said already that this step was very childish as it's not Toure's fault and he's the one who suffers in the end.
His agent Sulek opened the next round of the fight and criticized the Spaniard a lot for his behaviour. First, he doubted his talent as a coach. According to him, Pep had just luck and whenever he joined a club he had a very good team which was built by the former coaches. "The team he took at Barca had been built by [his predecessor] Frank Rijkaard and then he was lucky to have Lionel Messi. It was Messi who made Barca, not Pep. Luis Enrique has shown that Barca's success was not down to Guardiola".
This didn't only happen in Barcelona but also in the Bundesliga when he trained Bayern Munich. "It was the same in Munich. Bayern won the treble before Guardiola took over. They already had a great team on the pitch and a great organisation off the pitch. He couldn't fail. My grandfather could have won the league with that team".
Furthermore he told 'The Mirror' that the Spaniard wasn't popular at his last two clubs. "When Guardiola left Bayern there were a lot of happy people there once he had gone", he said. According to him, the coach can't handle football players with a strong personality and want players "who are scared of him and will do what he says", but he's not the first one to say that. Zlatan Ibrahimovic who played under him during his time at Barcelona said about his former coach: "I don't think the guy can handle strong personalities. He wants nice school boys. And worse: he runs away from his problems". Is it true?
"The first thing he did when he arrived at City was to pick a fight with Yaya and Joe Hart, two of the club's biggest players. Hart is England's goalkeeper; Yaya has won the African Footballer of the Year four times. They have both been big personalities in the dressing room at City and Guardiola doesn't like that.
"When you first go into someone's house then you should treat them with respect. You don't go into someone's house and ask them to leave", he added. Is he right and was Pep's behaviour disrespectful or is he still angry because Pep sold Toure when he arrived to Barcelona?
Sulek took Zlatan as an example in order to explain Guardiola's failure. "He was the same at Barcelona. He forced Samuel Eto'o to leave the club. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a player who cost £57 million, was sold for just £18 million". Does he want to be the center of attention and kicks out stars that could be more important than him?
He already threatend what will happen if he makes the 33-year-old leave: "But when his contract is over, he will tell the truth about Pep Guardiola and Manchester City's fans will not like it".
