Sane wasted no time in opening the scoring
Leroy Sane was handed his first start of the season for Manchester City against Fulham on Saturday and he marked the occasion by opening the scoring within two minutes.
The German has endured something of a fall from grace over the summer after being one of the Premier League's stand-out players last term.
After being suprisingly left out of Germany's World Cup squad, his return to club duty also saw him drop out of City's starting lineup, with Riyad Mahrez, David Silva and Raheem Sterling all being preferred by manager Pep Guardiola.
However, when handed his first start of the season, Sane wasted no time in opening his and City's account for the day as Fulham were caught cold at the Etihad.
Denis Odoi misplaced a pass in the middle of midfield, allowing Fernandinho to seize possession and drive forward into space.
The Brazilian got his head up and crossed low to the far post, where Sane was waiting unmarked to tap home and get the champions off to the perfect start.
