Cristiano Ronaldo said he plans to hold talks over a new Real Madrid contract after his holidays.

Ronaldo, who is currently on vacation with his family, revealed that he wants to negotiate his contract, when he returns to Madrid.

The last time he signed an extension was in 2013. This extension ties him until 2018 to the Spanish giant.

The 31-year-old told the Portuguese news agency 'Lusa':

"I spoke to the president on the phone and when I get to Madrid, we will talk about it".

He's been playing since 2009 for the club and wants to stay. The Portuguese scored last season 51 goals.

"Obviously it's something I want, I have mentioned it many times, and the club also wants it. But we only spoke briefly, and there will be more concrete things to come".

Ronaldo will join his team on the 10th of August and won't be able to participate on the match against Sevilla.

He said:

"I am completely ruled out for the ninth [August] because my return date is the 10th, there is no chance".

He adds: "This season has been the best of my career," he added. "I won two major titles, with my club and country, so it was something unique.

"It was a very emotional moment to win the Undecima. Winning the trophy is incredible, every time I look at it I see the memories of when I won it for the first time with Manchester United as well as my triumphs with Madrid".
