Cristiano Ronaldo will miss the Champions League match in a week's time. The Portuguese media 'Correio da Manha' reports that the Juventus star has tested positive again for COVID-19 and will not be able to play against Leo Messi's Barcelona.

Bad news for Juventus. According to Portuguese media, in the tests carried out this Thursday at Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo has again given a positive coronavirus result.

At that time, the Portuguese player was with his country's national team. After learning of this result, CR7 went into isolation and after a few days returned to Italy to begin his recovery, though not without controversy over a return that supposedly could have violated the country's anti-COVID-19 protocol.

Now, his case of COVID-19 is repeated after the tests carried out this Wednesday and this will mean that Cristiano Ronaldo will miss the match against Leo Messi's Barcelona next Wednesday, 28 October.

And the UEFA protocol in these cases is clear: the player must give negative one week before the Champions League match to be able to play that game. However, he could play in Serie A this weekend if he is no longer positive in the PCRs that will take place the day before the match against Verona .

Therefore, even without official confirmation from Cristiano Ronaldo or Juventus, everything points to the fact that the two stars of world football, CR7 and Leo Messi, who will fight with their teams for the lead in Group G of the Champions League, will not be able to see each other on the pitch.

We will have to wait to see the Ronaldo-Messi reunion, which hasn't happened in the Champions League since the semifinals of the 2011-12 season, when he was playing at Real Madrid.

However, as stated by 'Mundo Deportivo, there is a possibility that UEFA agrees to conduct a test 24 hours before the meeting, something that Juventus claims based on the fact that Ronaldo has no symptoms and, according to this same information, is not contagious.
