It was an unforgivable miss from the Portuguese, with the game tied at 1-1 at that point it could have been key.

A deep free kick was headed back across goal and into the path of Ronaldo who found himself unmarked and under no pressure whatsoever just four yards out but he somehow contrived to put the ball wide.

It just goes to show that even the very best fluff their lines on occasion.

In the end, the miss wasn't an issue, with Ronaldo making amends late on to give his side the victory.
