Cristiano Ronaldo is still yet to score in 2022. He thought he had scored twice in the match against Southampton. One shot was cleared practically off the line, while he had a goal disallowed in the final stages of the match.

Manchester United dropped another two points in their Premier League campaign this Saturday. Ronaldo had two clear chances to make the difference during the game, but luck did not seem to be on the side of the Portugese player.

After an intense start at Old Trafford, Cristiano Ronaldo looked as though he would get his first goal of 2022 as he ran onto a great pass from Sancho which allowed the Portuguese to lose his marker, and he neatly dribbled past the on rushing Forster.

However, he struck a weak effort towards goal which allowed Parraud to cover round and prevent Southampton conceding. Ronaldo was already on his way to the corner to celebrate, however he was left surprised when he saw his shot cleared.

Ronaldo continued to work hard all the way till the end. In the 72nd minute he took a shot, and this time it crossed the line. However, the goal was disallowed as VAR reveiwed the action and it was concluded that the ex Juventus man was offside during the build up

2022 has so far been tough for Cristiano, but the year has also started poorly on a collective level, as Manchester United were eliminated from the FA Cup. Their next match in the Champions League against Atletico could be their saving grace.
