Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo will return to Champions League action on Tuesday as he looks to put his woeful league form behind him.

The Portuguese has only mustered one league goal at the 12-game mark in La Liga but has had no such problem in Europe's premier club competition, scoring six goals in four games including braces against APOEL and Borussia Dortmund and a goal home and away against group leaders Tottenham Hotspur.

As the 2017/18 season threatens to turn into a nightmare for Ronaldo following his Super Cup sending off and his woes in front of goal in the league, the Champions League provides him with a safe place, where his form and ability are not questioned.

In fact, Ronadlo is the top scorer in the competition so far, with his goals helping the reigning champions to a 3-0 over APOEL at the Bernabeu, a 3-1 triumph in Dortmund and a 1-1 draw with Spurs on home soil, before bagging a consolation in the 3-1 thumping inn the reverse fixture.

Hero of Real's 'duodécima' last season, Ronaldo is once again showing his class on the European stage, surely it is only a matter of time before he finds his feet in La Liga as well?

A man with 616 career goals for club and country will only be kept at bay for so long.

Join us tomorrow for live coverage of APOEL V Real Madrid to see if Ronaldo will get back on the scoresheet once again.
