Behind Cristiano Ronaldo the football player, there is Cristiano Ronaldo the human. 'Good Morning Britain' published an extract from his interview, where he broke down crying whilst remembering his late father.

Cristiano Ronaldo's father, Jose Dinis Aveiro, died at 52-years-old. The Portuguese was only very young when it happened.

On 'Good Morning Britain', he was shown a video of his father, in which he expressed his pride for what Cristiano was achieving.

The Portuguese star could not hold back his tears. "I have not seen this video. Sorry...", he said through sobs.

He explained the reason why he was crying. "I am sad because I am the number 1 and he hasn't seen anything... he has not seen me win awards, he hasn't seen me become what I am today", he regretted.

Everybody in Cristiano's family have been there to see him be successful, but his father left him too soon. "My family have seen it, my Mother, my brothers... even my oldest son. But my Father hasn't seen anything", he expressed.

This is only one moment in the long interview conducted by 'Good Morning Britain'. The English show will publish it in full on Tuesday.
