Ronaldinho's son Joao Mendes played in a friendly match on Thursday for the Barcelona youth side against Manchester United. The Catalan side announced that this game was to prepare for the game against AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Youth League.

On Thursday, there was a behind-closed-doors friendly games between the Barcelona and Manchester United youth teams. In said game, Ronaldinho's son Joao Mendes made his debut for the Catalan side.

The team that started the game had good representation of players from the first and second youth teams from the Barca side, including Mendes, whose siging Joan Laporta confirmed in his last press conference.

The youngster's arrival came mid-season. At 17 years old, the Brazilian came from the youth ranks at Cruzeiro, the side where he started out as a footballer.

Just as the 'Cules' announced in a statement online, this game was used as preparation for the game against AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Youth League.
