Reports in Italy claim that Serie A side Roma have told Leicester that they want a response to their latest offer for winger Riyad Mahrez by Tusday at the latest.

'Sky Italy' reports that Roma have demanded a response from Leicester's Thai owners by midnight on Tuesday at the latest or they will move on to other targets.

The latest bid is bevlied to be worth a club-record £31.8m which would smash the club's previous record of £22.5m set when Roma signed Garbriel Batistuta from Fiorentina 17 years ago, though the Italians are not prepared to continue to be messed around, having already seen two bids for the wantaway Algerian rejected.

Mahrez has made it clear that he hopes to be allowed to leave the King Power this summer, though he did start in the Foxes' season opener against Arsenal on Friday night.

Roma are hoping that the ultimatum will force Leicester into agreeing a deal for the player, with there being very little serious interest in Mahhrez from other clubs at this point.

Should Leicester sell Mahrez this summer, they will make a considerable amount on a player that cost them just £560,000 from Le Havre in 2014.
