Spain turned defeat into humiliation for Croatia, as Rodrigo added a fourth shortly before Sergio Ramos headed in the fifth.

Spain had evidently found the game easier than they were expecting, taking a 3-0 lead into half-time in what was Ivan Rakitic's milestone 100th appearance for the Croatian national side.

Isco picked up the ball in the centre of the field in the 49th minute, before releasing Asensio.

The youngster then proceeded to play through Valencia forward Rodrigo, who found himself one-on-one with Croatia goalkeeper Kalinic.

The 27-year-old finished neatly under the Croatian, but the scoring was not finished there.

Asensio whipped in a corner just eight minutes later, to the delight of the incoming Sergio Ramos.

'Los Blancos' captain Ramos headed down past Kalinic, and made it a five-star performance for 'La Roja'.
